Cavity Wall Insulation Havant
Cavity wall insulation for Havant homeowners
At Loft Insulation Specialists, we help Havant homeowners cut heating bills and stay warmer with professionally installed Superbead EPS cavity wall insulation. With over 40 years of experience across Hampshire, we know the borough’s housing inside out – from the vast post-war council terraces of Leigh Park to the 1950s and 1960s estates around Waterlooville and Emsworth.
Up to 35% of your home’s heat can escape through uninsulated cavity walls. Our Superbead system injects bonded, water-repellent expanded polystyrene beads under controlled pressure to fill the cavity completely and lock warmth in. Because most of the town was built after the war, the bulk of local homes have fillable brick cavities; if you live in one of Emsworth’s Georgian houses or an older solid-walled cottage, cavity insulation won’t apply – and we’ll tell you that honestly at survey rather than sell you the wrong product.
With Langstone and Chichester Harbours wrapping the borough and low-lying stock on Hayling Island, we always assess wind-driven rain exposure before recommending a fill. Every job comes with a free, no-obligation survey and a fixed-price quote – no high-pressure sales or jargon, just straightforward advice.

How Havant homeowners benefit from Cavity Wall Insulation
These are the five key checks we carry out before installing cavity wall insulation in Havant. They help us confirm your property is suitable for Superbead and ensure the installation delivers long-term performance.
Property age and construction type
Most homes built between 1920 and the late 1980s use cavity brick construction, making them ideal for Superbead insulation. These walls have two layers of brick separated by a narrow air gap, typically 50mm or more. If your property was built before 1920, it may have solid walls that need a different approach—we check this during survey.
Borescope cavity inspection
We use a borescope camera to inspect inside your wall cavity without disruption. This confirms cavity width, checks for debris or existing insulation, identifies any damp or structural issues, and verifies the cavity is suitable for Superbead injection.
Exposure to wind-driven rain
Exposure to wind-driven rain is one of the most important factors we assess. While most properties perform well with Superbead, we pay special attention to coastal and exposed locations. Superbead’s bonded, water-repellent beads are designed to resist moisture penetration even in higher-exposure areas.
How Superbead works in Havant homes
Superbead is ideal for Havant’s post-war cavity-walled homes – the council terraces of Leigh Park and the 1950s and 1960s estates around Waterlooville and Cowplain, built from brick with a clear cavity. Millions of tiny EPS beads are injected under pressure to fill that cavity completely, then bond together with a water-repellent additive to form a seamless, breathable thermal barrier that won’t slump or soak up moisture.

Frequently asked questions
Take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions regarding our Cavity Wall Insulation services in Havant.
How much can cavity wall insulation save on energy bills in Havant?
According to the Energy Saving Trust, cavity wall insulation saves a typical home around £150–£295 a year, and more for larger detached properties. Over 25 years that adds up to roughly £4,000–£7,000. Exact savings depend on your property’s size, wall area and heating habits, but with energy prices as they are the work usually pays for itself within a few years.
Does cavity wall insulation cause damp?
No, not when properly surveyed and installed. Around 96% of UK installations report zero moisture problems. Issues only arise when assessments are skipped or pre-existing problems like cracked render are missed. We carry out a full borescope inspection on every Havant property before installation.
Is my Havant home suitable for cavity wall insulation?
Most Havant homes built between 1920 and the late 1980s have standard brick cavity walls and are well suited to Superbead – particularly the post-war stock around Leigh Park, Waterlooville and Cowplain. The borough’s older buildings are the exception: Emsworth’s Georgian core, the surviving cottages near St Faith’s church and the solid-walled heritage around Warblington and Langstone were generally built without a cavity, so cavity insulation doesn’t apply; if that’s your home, we’ll say so at survey and point you towards the right solution. Because the harbour fringe is low-lying and exposed, we also check wind-driven rain exposure before confirming suitability.
What guarantee do you provide on cavity wall insulation?
All our cavity wall insulation work includes a 10-year IAA (Insulation Assurance Authority) backed guarantee covering materials and workmanship. This means you are protected even in the unlikely event that the installer is no longer trading.
How quickly can you install cavity wall insulation in Havant?
Most installations in Havant are completed in 2-4 hours. All work is carried out from outside your home, with drill holes sealed and colour-matched on the same visit. We confirm timings during survey and provide a clear schedule before installation starts.

Havant (/ˈhævənt/ HAV-ənt) is a town in the south-east corner of Hampshire, England. Nearby places include Portsmouth to the south-west, Southampton to the west, Waterlooville to north, Chichester to the east and Hayling Island to the south. The wider borough comprises the town (45,826), the resort of Hayling Island, the town of Waterlooville, and the town of Emsworth. Housing and population more than doubled in the 20 years following World War II, a period of major conversion of land from agriculture and woodland to housing across the region following the incendiary bombing of Portsmouth and the Blitz.
The old centre of the town was a small Celtic settlement before Roman times and the town’s commerce, retired and commuter population swelled after World War II so as to be usually considered economically part of the Portsmouth conurbation.[citation needed]
